Greetings everyone!!! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. Yesterday was Mother's Day and it was also a day of remembrance of last year's tragedy, a hateful violence that occurred in Buffalo's East Side, Tops Market on Jefferson Avenue. It was definitely a bittersweet day of remembering the lives that were taken and trying to celebrate the women who are stepped into the role as mothers and/or caretakers. It's definitely a reminder to us all to cherish life, because we never know when our time is up. So with that being said, be grateful you are still here breathing life. It's another opportunity to make a difference in someone's life. Remember its the little things that counts.
This Saturday which is May 20th is a big day for Signing Is Art! It is the day we promote the Brick Love Fashion Show hence, it's a movie. Our main purpose of this production is to promote disability and hearing loss awareness. We are doing our part to be inclusive as much as we can. There are many types of disabilities, and it does not make us any less of person. We want to be treated with respect and fairly just like everyone. We have no control over our disabilities, however we do have a duty in educating the community about our disabilities. It's all about breaking down communication barriers, assuring accommodations are in place, as well as increasing the well being of one's life.
This is our first production of many more. We learned a lot during this journey and what we will do differently moving forward. Please take the time to come out and join us for this amazing event at the Frank E. Merriweather, Jr Library located at 1324 Jefferson Ave, Buffalo, NY 14208 from noon to 2pm. Tickets can be purchase online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/brick-love-fashion-show-tickets-615196117147 or you can pay at the door. I look forward to seeing you there!!!
